The photographic act is embedded within—folded into—the act of sculpture in the hybrid bodies Maya Zehavi creates.In some of them, photographs are concealed; in others, they remain visibly present. Zehavi folds, rolls, and compresses the photograph, using it as a raw material, a pretext for sculptural action.The objects on view are fragmentary and enigmatic, made from local materials that come together in unexpected ways.
